Alongside barnstorming performances from Claire Foy and Matt Smith, the undisputed stars of the show are the costumes. In terms of styling, historical accuracy and sheer scale of undertaking, it really is a triumph to behold. A cast of over seven thousand people needed two to five costumes each, and the tailors here at Timothy Everest were honoured to provide bespoke wardrobe for the key male characters.
Our bespoke team worked round the clock on a stunning series of commissions including military dress uniforms, evening wear and lounge suits, all constructed with a fine eye for period detailing to lend authenticity to the actors’ portrayals. From the Duke of Windsor’s dandyism through to Prince Phillip’s pageantry, every piece conveys the very essence of the actor’s role to the audience.
