New And Improved

Washed Programme Tailoring

It was well over a decade ago that we first launched our Washed Programme Tailoring here at TE, pioneering a fresh way to look at suiting separates for our modern client.

Every season since, we have offered this contemporary take on soft tailoring, in a range of seasonal colours and weights, our perennial best-selling choice able to adapt and mould to the customers needs giving unparalleled options and outfitting for any occasion.

However, as with all innovations, we thought it was time to give the programme a spruce up and a makeover.

Working with a long established mill in Northern Ireland, we utilised their 200 plus year pedigree in traditional dyeing and finishing techniques with newly developed technology to create a 238g, one hundred percent Linen cloth with the requisite body and drape for our unlined suiting.

After being individually dyed piece-by-piece, a new finishing process produces a soft, laundered fabric without the standard process of high temperature washing and tumble dying that harms the material and ages it prematurely. This system simulates the churning of laundering but only using air, carefully avoiding the chemicals of dry cleaning; another process that erodes the cloth’s molecular integrity.

The result is a lush, soft handled linen that creases less and has enough bounce to recover well from being crumpled and folded during travel.

We also took the opportunity to improve the block with our made-to-measure factory, producing an unstructured jacket with three patch pockets and generous lapel width, and tapered flat front trousers with belt loops and zipped fly.

In SandstoneNavy or Dark Eucalyptus we feel they are a worthy addition to the range.
