Introducing AW22

Local Weaving and Artful Layering

‘Wisdom comes with winters’ – Oscar Wilde

Winter is upon us, and as the autumn leaves fade to bare trees, we turn to the wind-beaten British landscape as inspiration for the Autumn / Winter 22 collection. After the arrival of arctic temperatures, you can find warmth and comfort in our latest arrivals, protecting you from the elements with style and elegance.

A rich combination of tactile textures and weaves, this season is set in earthy hues and punctuated with expressive pops of colour. A reflection of the landscape itself, the palette moves away from the vibrant colours of Summer into the more muted tones of British Winter. It conjures images of Wuthering Heights, Heathcliff battling the elements as he crosses the desolate but beautiful Yorkshire Moors. Think crisp, wintery walks in long woollen coats draped elegantly over cosy knits; wardrobe staples like our shawl-collared cardigan layered artfully over button-down shirting.

For the tailoring and outerwear, we have continued our collaboration with ‘Woven in the Bone’, an artisanal cloth-weaver from Scotland with a rich and distinct heritage of woven woollen cloth. Due to the small-scale production of these stunning hand-woven textiles, a limited edition run of only eight pieces per garment is available.

The versatile Donegal Raglan coat is made from a striking herringbone tweed. This special collaboration with weaver Sam Goates has created a remarkable tweed made from a luxurious, patterned wool that combines a whole host of melodic natural tones.

Another piece created in collaboration with Woven in the Bone is the Saxony Dobby Blazer; this stylish tailored sports coat is constructed from a soft 100% Merino cloth exclusively for Timothy Everest, inspired by the pigments of the beaten British landscapes.

For those fireside evenings, we have elegant lambswool knits and merino mid-layers. The latest roll necks are spun from a three-ply yarn, ideal for smart layering without overheating the wearer. Our classic crew necks are knitted in Peterhead, Scotland and made from Donegal merino woollen yarns with a beautiful tweed effect spun in Ireland. The spinning process gives the cloth of this piece its distinguishing flecks and texture.

This season we have an array of winter accessories perfect for gifting, including silk-knitted ties in an assortment of colours. These hand-finished ties are made in Italy and add texture and expression to any tailored ensemble. Or, for a more relaxed yet elegant look during the party season, we have our ever-dependable Tamaki Niime shawls. Each one is lovingly hand-made in Japan using vintage looms; each scarf is completely unique thanks to the banshu weaving process used to create these exquisite accessories.

We’re also very excited to introduce our collaboration with renowned shoemakers Cheaney, made in England since 1886. We have partnered with Cheaney to release four styles that are a timeless addition to any wardrobe. These design classics are hand-crafted in Northamptonshire, renowned as the home of quality English shoemaking. From Chelsea boots to Oxfords, or the ‘Derby’ (a round-toe design) and one of Cheaney’s most iconic designs, the Chukka boot. Each elegant style has been designed to be paired harmoniously with our latest Autumn / Winter 22 collection.
